Welcome to Physical Education 2
This course will focus on developing proficient movement skills in the areas of Team Sports (Softball, Football, Basketball, Soccer, Volleyball), Gymnastics (Tumbling), Combatives, as well as Personal Fitness.
This course is required for graduation. Students who passed P.E. 1 and and those students who did not meet 5 out of 6 standards on the California State Fitness Test are required and must take this class as well as retaking the Fitness Test.
This course will also include Motor Skills/Skills Tests, Written Assignments, Sports Unit Tests, Mid-Term and Final Exam.
The Hamilton Technology Center will be used to assist in meeting some of the California State Standards for Physical Education and High School curriculum required for this class.
This year you are going to learn about Biomechanics and understanding the concepts of physics, anatomy, and physiology and how it is applied to analyzing different motor skills. In the Spring, You will be involved in a group video project based on the California State Physical Education Standards for High School Physical Education, Level 2. View two award winning video created in this class, 2014 Digital Voice Awards, a YouTube Video, "How to Kick a Soccer Ball - A Soccer Video Project" and 2017 Digital Voice Awards, a YouTube Video, "How to Bump a Volleyball" - A Group Video Project".
